Book Club

I decided that I could post what my book club's reading here as well. We're known as The Bookers (no comments on that please) and we are a monthly book club that meets on the first Friday of the month at my house.

Each month we take turns picking the book. Being the host I go last picking. For July I get to pick the book. So on Friday we meet and I will announce that we're going to be reading The Widow's Season by Laura Brodie. Myrtle Beach--the place of inspiration

Oh. My. Gosh.

Myrtle Beach offers so many places where the scenery is just breath-takingly gorgeous. Beauty like this is usually awe inspiring for writing. *Trust me, it is. ;)

I'm leaving tomorrow morning about 5. I don't want to leave the ocean, but I want my own bed, shower, and Internet connection back. ;) This Internet connection is pretty slow, probably why it's free...

I went buggie boarding today. For those of you who've never buggie boarded DO IT! Seriously, it's a lot of fun. But you need the ocean--and the perfect waves. Oh, did I mention I managed to hit 4 swimmers--one of them multiple times...Sorry kid. You brought me good waves though. Don't worry. I didn't hurt him. He probably thinks I'm crazy...

Not that I'm not...

I went shopping too. I brought $92 with me and now I have like $15 or something like that. I had to buy my friends stuff!! Plus I got a Mets hat. I don't live in New York, but the Mets are awesome. Mike Pelfrey especially. If you ever have the chance to meet him--do it. He's the nicest guy you'll ever meet. He'd do anything for kids, he's a special boy that Mike. (Not anything like his grandpa--just kidding Harry.) Harry's my grandma's next door neighbor, btw. But be warned ladies--Mike just got married...so don't get any ideas.

Well, I need to go now. This post didn't have anything to do with writing, but that's okay. I'm still outlining, but have done none since I left. I'm reading my book club book, but it's hard to get into so far. It's My Sister's Keeper I mean, it's good, but nothing's really happened yet. I figure it gets better and gets to be more of a oh-my-gosh-I-can't-put-it-down kind of book.

Of course now that I need to focus on packing I suddenly am able to write again! Ugh, it's frustrating!

I'm going to pack. Tonight. And tomorrow. Wish me luck! *Last year my brother forgot his PJ's and tooth brush. He slept in a T-shirt and swimming trunks and (thank God) the hotel offered extra tooth brushes. :)

Terrible Twos and Inspirational Video

My sister hits the Terrible Twos today! Yikes!

Guilty...

I feel kind of guilty. Not just today, but now in general. My sister turns 2 tomorrow, and I haven't been spending a whole lot of time with her because I've been on my computer writing. I'm reading Shadow Kiss which is the third book in the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead. I've been reading that for a while and I'm almost done with it, but I haven't brought myself to finish it. I feel guilty about that too. I've abandoned my book a little bit because I decided to change the whole story line in my outline. So I need to actually finish it and then start revisions. But like I said, I'm not spending a whole lot of time with my family and friends. And both are so important to me that it hurts me not to. Today I'm going shopping with my grandma for a little while and then will come home and slave away again. I guess that's just the way it goes sometimes. But the outline is looking great and I definitely have a better idea of what I want from my book now and it's amazing how much better it's going to be now! *Thanks JoAnne!*

Well, my grandma's going to be here in 10 minutes so I need to go. I'll talk to you guys tomorrow!

Camp=NO WRITING!!

I had camp today. Camp sucked. I'm not going tomorrow. My outline has only gotten one paragraph longer. No writing has been done. I hate camp.
